Serving the Midlands of South Carolina since 1989, Ye Olde Bookbinder is a small owner-operated business located in Columbia, South Carolina.

 

We specialize in repairing and hand-binding case bound books. Case binding refers basically to non-paperback books having either hard or soft (flexible) covers.

We also specialize in repairing and conserving antique books, including your antique family Bibles or heirloom volumes.

Larry DuBois has been in Columbia since 1988. He is a college and seminary graduate of
Columbia International University.
Larry first learned bookbinding while serving as a missionary in the Philippines with OMF International.

The craft began as a hobby and has developed into a profession.

Ye Olde Bookbinder was closed from 1999 -2009 when Larry and his wife Anita
returned to the Philippines to teach at
Koinonia Theological Seminary
in Davao City, Mindanao.

The DuBois name (pronounced doo BOICE) is from the French du Bois (doo BWAH).
